Childcare Facilities

This contemporary refurbishment of 1970’s wooden building created a new childcare facility for An Cotan Creche at Lews Castle College

www.lews.uhi.ac.uk. Internally, the building was updated incorporating air-source heating combined with solar thermal panels and up-to-date levels of insulation to reduce energy costs. Externally, the building was clad in western red cedar cladding, re-roofed, fitted with new windows and doors. A bespoke soft play area was provided externally incorporating hop-scotch, a clock face and a roadway.

New entrance canopy.

Existing Canadian Sugar Maple tree, one of only two in the castle grounds was retained.
